Jesus M. Ornelas
Assistant to the Director

Mr. Ornelas joined FHP in 2002 as a Family Construction Coordinator where he provides technical and instructional guidance to families in the self-help program which included ordering materials, calling trades, scheduling inspections and involvement in the community association. In 2005, Mr. Ornelas was promoted to his current position as the Assistant to the Director where he works hand in hand with the Director to carry out the Board’s directives in operating the organization consistent with the objectives of the funding agencies. Mr. Ornelas troubleshoots with staff to effect solutions to operational challenges and ensures compliance to the family labor requirements of the self-help program as well as assuring field staff are trained. Mr. Ornelas came to FHP as a homebuyer through the self-help housing program where he served on the Property Owners Association as President.
